Blessed Soul:
Draupadi Dinam will be celebrated on 09th May 2024, Thursday at Aykunnu Pandavagiri Devi temple, on the sacred premises where Draupadi did penance during their days of vanavasa. Devi, pleased by her austerity bestowed boons to ensure the victory of Draupadi's husbands in the war and a long marital life for herself.
In the astrological session conducted by astrologers Sri Manappuzha Raman Namboothiri and Koottanad Ravunni Panikker, the ancient association of ascetic personages was revealed. To commemorate this, every year the Krithika day of lunar calendar of Vaisakha month has been chosen. On this day it is extremely auspicious for maidens as well as married women to offer 'Pattu and Thali' (silken garment and mangal sutra) to Devi. Ashta Lakshmi Tamboola offering accords prosperity to the devotee.
Udayastaman Pooja- the ceremonial worship consisting of 18 different poojas will also be conducted on this day, commencing from 6 in the morning and ending at 1 in the afternoon. Since the sanctum sanctorum will have to be closed during these poojas intermittently, a separate dais will be arranged to make the offerings.
The Ratha Ghoshayatra, procession of chariot will begin by 8 from Narayanashrama Tapovanam under the guidance of Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha ji and other sannyasins. The decorated Ratham carrying the Pattu thali, handmirror, etc. will be brought from the banyan tree at Southern nada, going in pradakshina around the hill.
Since cancer, kidney and heart diseases are on the rise among even young people these days, it is proposed to offer 108 paras of Turmeric to Devi on the Draupadi day. Turmeric is known for its antibiotic, and immunogenic properites. (Para is a traditional measuring vessel. Approximately 10 kg of rice will fill a para. )
We invite all devotees, especially married women and girls to come and offer Pattu thali, Ashtalakshmi tamboola, pudava, valkannadi etc. on Draupadi day at Pandavagiri Aykunnu Devi temple. Participate, be blessed!
